Land Professionals Training on Evaluating Land Tools for Gender Equality: Pilot Training Report
Land Professionals Training on Evaluating Land Tools for Gender Equality: Pilot Training Report Description:

A one-day pilot training for land professionals on how to use a recently produced set of GLTN gender evaluation criteria was held in Mombasa, Kenya on 9 November 2010 to test the comprehensibility of the training module. The intention of the training package is to be a practical course with a set of sessions to unpack the criteria, highlighting the practical steps needed to (i) prepare for such an evaluation, (ii) undertake it, and (iii) validate it through a multi-stakeholder process. The training was attended by 14 participants from 7 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia and Uganda), and a range of institutions including the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) etc. In addition, a representative from GROOTS Kenya, representing grassroots stakeholders was invited as an observer to reflect on the possibility of adapting the training course to grassroots target groups.
